Toyoda Gosei invests in Uhuru, an IoT services provider
Uhuru Corporation announced that it has entered into capital and business alliance with Toyoda Gosei Co., Ltd.
Uhuru is a venture
business that provides services and solutions using huge amounts of data
in cloud computing and edge devices.Toyoda Gosei is a Toyota Group company specialising in rubber and plastic, developing and manufacturing automotive parts and other products. One of the main activities of its middle and long-term business plan is “Venture into innovation, new mobility”. Based on this plan, the company is using its core technologies to pioneer new businesses and develop new automotive products for CASE technologies. In 2019 Toyoda Gosei started corporate venture capital (CVC) to the tune of JPY3 billion ($27.6 million) and is enhancing collaboration with venture companies and universities.
Uhuru has solid track record in the field of IoT services and solutions with abundant experience in projects using cloud computing. Through collaboration with Uhuru, Toyoda Gosei aims to enhance value in products and services using various types of data gained through e-Rubber sensors.
The two companies will create new solutions and services in preparation for the coming CASE and MaaS era. They will also carry out joint business based on a new profit model and further enhance their businesses.
