Production version of the Lucid Air to debut in April
Lucid Motors announced that the production Lucid Air will be rolling off the company’s factory line by the end of this year.
Featuring the company's remarkable in-house technology, the Lucid Air will set a new standard for sustainable transportation. The global reveal of the production Lucid Air will take place in New York this April, where the company will release its production specifications, available configurations, and pricing information.
Lucid Motors is building 80 beta prototypes of the Lucid Air right at its Silicon Valley headquarters. Most of these cars — highly representative of the production Air — are designated for exhaustive testing. The company is tuning software for traction and stability control, braking, and steering systems; performing body and chassis durability testing; and confirming crash simulations with actual tests.
Construction at the Casa Grande, AZ, factory is well underway. Most structural steel will be in place by the end of February, followed by installation of production equipment, including a state-of-the-art paint shop. The first pre-production cars is expected to roll off the line early in Q4 of 2020, with full production following that phase by the end of 2020.
Lucid Motor's first stores are taking shape. They will not only give customers a firsthand experience of our vehicles but provide exceptional service once they are on the road. The company will soon release more information about specific locations and the overall plan for our sales and service network.
This forward momentum will continue with plans for a nationwide Lucid Air tour this summer, exclusive store openings, and the launch of a groundbreaking configurator so you can build your own vehicle to personal preferences.
Lucid Air reservations can be done for $1,000.
