Enovate partners with ProLogium to commercialise solid state batteries
Chinese start-up Enovate has formed a strategic cooperation agreement with battery maker ProLogium at the Auto Shanghai 2019.
As a part of the deal ProLogium will help commercialise Enovate's solid state battery technology.
ProLogium will provide the startup with its solid-state lithium ceramic battery (LCB) technology and also help the EV maker to later upgrade cells to achieve higher energy density. This partnership will thus help Enovate become one of the first EV manufacturers to adopt solid sate batter technology.
The two companies also plan to team up with other strategic partners to construct assembly lines, planning production and further develop battery technology (BiPolar Type LCB). By the end of 2018, ProLogium had been granted around 129 patents in China, US, Korea, Japan, UK and the EU.
Enovate unveiled its ME-S premium sports sedan at the Auto Shanghai. This vehicle is expected to sport a solid-state battery with an energy density of up to 750Wh/L. The Chinese EV start-up plans to launch new electric SUVs, sedans and MPVs over the coming five years.
