AFC Energy, an industrial fuel cell power company, announced the successful deployment of CH2ARGE, the world’s first electric vehicle charger based on hydrogen fuel-cell technology. The breakthrough by the UK-based energy technology company could enable 100% clean electricity for future EV charging.
Toyota and Lexus are bringing connected car capabilities to their vehicles in the United States. The collaboration of Toyota Motor North America, KDDI and AT&T* will enable 4G LTE connectivity for all new model Toyota and Lexus cars and trucks. This will start with 2020 model year vehicles in the fall of 2019, across all 50 states.
Hyundai Mobis and KT announced that they have launched 5G communication in the Hyundai Mobis proving ground in Seosan, Chungcheongnam-do, and have begun to develop connected vehicle technology by actively utilising this network. KT built the infrastructure in the Seosan proving ground so that Hyundai Mobis can aim to gain early advantage in leveraging the 5G-based connected vehicle technology.

The Volkswagen brand announced the first production location of its
electric offensive in North America. In future, the Chattanooga plant in
Tennessee is to produce vehicles based on the modular electric toolkit

The BMW Group sold more than 140,000 electrified (battery-electric and plug-in hybrid) vehicles in 2018. In total, 142,617 (+38.4%) electrified BMW and Mini vehicles were delivered to customers around the world last year.
