Didi Chuxing (DiDi), a leading multi-modal transportation platform, announced it is officially opening up its ride-hailing platform to third-party mobility service providers in order to aggregate more high-quality mobility resources to meet robust user demand.The announcement came as DiDi reached partnership agreement with FAW Group Corporation (First Automobile Works Group Co.) and Dongfeng Motor Corporation (DFM), two state-owned flagships of China’s automotive industry. These partnerships follow an earlier agreement with Guangzhou Automobile Group Co., Ltd (GAC Group) in June 2019. All three companies rank among China’s top 5 carmakers by sales.The pilot ride-hailing services from FAW and DFM, as well as OnTime ride-hailing service from GAC, will connect into DiDi’s main app to serve DiDi’s 550 million registered users across China.The auto industry and the shared mobility sector have come closer to explore synergistic models of smart mobility and auto-connectivity. Through this open platform, DiDi will leverage its AI strengths, operational expertise and marketplace strategies to help automotive partners build capacities for connected vehicle operations.DiDi is building a broader network of partnerships with automakers and other industry players. The mobility-plus-automobile alliance will strengthen DiDi’s mobility ecosystem and help shape a broader industry transformation driven by global trends of electrification, shared mobility and application of AI technology.
Since 1 July 2019, a new EU Directive has made it mandatory to install a

Directive. This stipulates that initially in newly certificated hybrid,
electric and fuel cell vehicles – also trucks and buses – the Acoustic
Vehicle Alerting System (AVAS) must be installed for the protection of
