UK based AFF launches new mobile EV charging service

News

AFF, an established business in the automotive breakdown and recovery sector, has introduced a a new mobile EV charging service

{inStory1}

AFF has a national and 24/7 roadside service, specialising in supporting insurance companies and breakdown clubs who offer their customers assistance if they mis fuel their vehicle. The company is now offering roadside fast charging for EVs, utilising their existing network of vans, and recently signed its first contract to provide services for LV Insurance.

The system AFF uses is an AC 7.2KW unit, which enables a charging time for most EV’s of 24 miles per hour, sufficient range for a driver to be able to reach the nearest fixed charging point, ensuring that they can carry on their journey, regardless of the time or location of the incident.

The company believes the service will be a powerful tool in addressing the issue of “range anxiety”, that can often inhibit motorists when deciding if they can make the switch to EV, as well as supporting EV growth in areas where fixed charging points are slow to emerge, or over utilised – inner city and rural environments particularly.
