Alpiq launches the Juicar e-mobility subscription in Europe

The Swiss electricity producer and energy services provider Alpiq is systematically continuing to expand its digital energy and mobility services in Europe.

Following the successful launch phase in Switzerland, the flexible full-service electric mobility subscription Juicar can now also be booked throughout Germany and has been launched on the Italian market.

Juicar, Alpiq's full-service subscription offers a simple path into zero-emission mobility. It covers all the services associated with the vehicle: from the actual electric car on the doorstep, the corresponding home charging station, access to public charging and the motor vehicle tax to insurance, and right through to the payment of electricity charges.

The customer configures the desired mobility package online, subscribes to it at a monthly flat rate and can cancel it at any time without taking any financial risk. Juicar was developed by the Oyster Lab, Alpiq's think tank in Zurich.

Juicar was launched on the Swiss market in August 2018, where it has since achieved a steadily growing demand. Now, the activities are being expanded into other European countries. In Germany, the subscription is now available nationwide, following the successful soft launch in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia in 2019. Alpiq was able to secure Arval, a leading European fleet operator, as its cooperation partner for Germany. The sales activities for Juicar in Germany are coordinated from the Alpiq offices in the German capital Berlin.

The flexible e-mobility subscription is now also available in Italy. The Italian market for electric cars is recording growth rates that are at a similar level as the Swiss and German markets, suggesting that there will be a corresponding rise in customer demand. Alpiq has been successfully serving the Italian market in the charging infrastructure segment since 2016, and with the market launch of Juicar it is systematically expanding its energy and mobility services.
