Tesla reveals details of its Q4 2019 vehicle production and deliveries
In the fourth quarter, Tesla achieved record production of almost 105,000 vehicles and record deliveries of approximately 112,000 vehicles.
In 2019, the automaker delivered approximately 367,500 vehicles, 50% more than the previous year and in line with its full year guidance.
The EV maker produced 17,933 units of Model S/X while it delivered 19,450 units of the same during the quarter. The Model 3 accounted for the majority of the units produced and delivered. The company revealed that it produced 86,958 units and delivered 92,550 units of the Model 3 during the quarter.
Tesla is focussing on expanding production in both the US as well as its newly launched facility in Shanghai. Despite breaking ground at Gigafactory Shanghai less than 12 months ago, it has already produced just under 1,000 customer saleable cars and have begun deliveries. The automaker has also demonstrated production run-rate capability of greater than 3,000 units per week, excluding local battery pack production which began in late December.
Tesla's net income and cash flow results will be announced along with the rest of its financial performance when it announce Q4 earnings. The delivery count should be viewed as slightly conservative, as the company only counts a car as delivered if it is transferred to the customer and all paperwork is correct. Final numbers could vary by up to 0.5% or more.
