BP Chargemaster installs London’s first 150kW ultra-fast charging hub on a public network

News

BP Chargemaster continues the roll out of their new 150kW ultra-fast rapid charging units with new units installed at BP retail site in Hammersmith, London.

Info

Made up of four 150kW chargers, the new site is the first ultra-fast charging hub to be installed in London, and part of a nationwide roll out by BP Chargemaster.

Turfan Erginbilgic, Chief Executive of BP's Downstream business, announced the roll out of ultra-fast chargers on to BP forecourts at the Powering the Charge conference earlier this year, with 400 set to be installed across the country. BP Chargemaster then launched their first ultra-fast charging site in August this year, with the first 2 units installed at BP retail site, BP Cranford in Hounslow.

As the number of electric vehicles continues to grow in the UK and more manufacturers introduce next generation EVs with bigger battery capacity and fast charging times, the roll out of an ultra-fast charging network will help drive the growing adoption of electric vehicles. Offering convenient and reliable ultra-fast charging to drivers across the country is essential in supporting this uptake.

The new units are accessible through Polar, the UK's largest public electric vehicle charging network, and will offer rapid charging of up to 150kW with CHAdeMO and CCS connectors. All four units are currently available on Free Vend for a limited time. BP Chargemaster is committed to developing the UK's largest network of ultra-fast charging units over the coming months and years.

The new ultra-fast charging hub can be found at BP Hammersmith Flyover SF Connect, Talgarth Road, Hammersmith, W6 8BJ.
