EasyMile’s EZ10 Driverless Shuttle debuts in Renmark, Australia
Phase 1 of South Australia’s regional autonomous vehicle trial launched in Renmark, South Australia, providing a new transport service to the community.
The shuttle, an EasyMile EZ10, will run free morning and afternoon services approximately every hour on weekdays and have a capacity to carry six passengers. The vehicle has been named ‘Murray' following a competition run by the local council, with the wrap designed by Kelsey Wade.
The 4.5km Renmark trial includes a world first removable custom-built smart traffic control signal, ensuring the safe travel of the vehicle through the intersection of Ral Ral Avenue and Thurk Stret.
The trial is a joint project between the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure of South Australia, Renmark Paringa Council, Flinders University, EasyMile and SAGE Automation.
