“Audi AG will play a pioneering role in the field of electromobility. We will make our significant contribution to this. In recent years, we have taken the first important steps, such as the start of electric motor production for the Audi e-tron in 2018. The focus of our planning for the next few years is on electromobility and sustainability, “said Achim Heinfling, Chairman of the Board of Management of Audi Hungaria Zrt. “With the e-transformation project, we are creating the conditions for the new era and strengthening the future viability of our company. Audi Hungaria remains a key player both in the Audi Group and in the Hungarian economy. ”

Most of the transformation is focused on the expansion of electric motor production in Győr, thus enabling the integration of the future generation of electric motors. Audi Hungaria has been producing e-motors for the brand's first all-electric model, the Audi e-tron, for a year now.

The competences and capacities of technical development are also being expanded. In addition to the work on increasing the efficiency of conventional drives, the centre will focus on electric drives. Thermodynamics and similar vehicle applications will be systematically developed. Additionally, a state-of-the-art workshop with new test stands and a new office building will be built.

Furthermore, in the framework of the project, the site is also being prepared for production of EVs. As part of the e-transformation project, 250 jobs will be created.
