This agreement will form the basis for VinFast to accelerate production and time to market for its first electric cars and buses that is slated to hit the roads in 2020.

Under the newly signed cooperation agreement, VinFast and Kreisel Electric will jointly research and develop a battery packaging solution for electric cars and buses. These battery packs will be manufactured at VinFast's factory. The collaboration would aim to make the battery solutions light weight with higher safety and reliability.

As a pioneer in the field of batteries and energy solutions for eco-transport vehicles, Kreisel Electric is currently one of the most prestigious names in the new energy industry, with breakthrough solutions and technologies. Major partners who are using Kreisel Electric's technology and solutions include Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Bosch, LG Chem and Portier, a yacht company.

Kreisel Electric's products are highly rated for smart design, being compact with greater heat dissipation as also being able to fast charge without affecting durability and battery life. In addition, the low cost and high efficiency are also the strengths of the Kreisel-branded battery packaging technology.

The agreement with Kreisel Electric continues to affirm VinFast's strategy of “cooperating with giants”, helping to ensure that VinFast electric car product lines are equipped with the most advanced technologies at a given price point. Reasonable prices will not only meet the needs of domestic consumers, but also help the company to remain competitive in the international market as well.

“With strong determination and continuous efforts to pursue the mission of creating a world-class Vietnamese automobile brand, catch up with the most advanced trends today, VinFast always seeks cooperation opportunities with the world's leading partners, to apply the best technology solutions for their product lines,” said Le Thi Thu Thuy, Vice President of Vingroup and Chairman of VinFast. “Kreisel Electric will bring revolutionary solutions to the electric cars of VinFast, helping VinFast quickly conquer consumers by quality and security.”

VinFast officially inaugurated its automobile factory in June, after only 21 months from the date of commencement. VinFast is gradually bringing its first product lines to the market. Deliveries of the VinFast Fadil, a multi-purpose urban model, commenced since June 17, 2019 with a large event where 650 cars delivered in one day. Two models of VinFast Lux A2.0 and Lux SA2.0 will also reach customers by the end of July 2019.

VinFast will launch a total of 12 models of cars and electric motorbikes in 2019 and 2020.
