Hyundai’s Kona hybrid up for order in Germany
Hyundai’s lifestyle SUV Kona Hybrid can now be ordered in Germany with a staring price of €26,900 ($30,397) with deliveries beginning in autumn this year. The Hyundai Kona also offers other drive variants such as gasoline, diesel, as well as battery electric variant.
The three variants Trend, Style and Premium are powered by the latest generation hybrid drive, which is also present in Hyundai's other successful model, Ioniq. The combination of 1.6-litre GDI Kappa petrol four-cylinder and permanent magnet electric motor offers the Hyundai Kona Hybrid an output of 104 kW (141 hp) and 265 Nm of torque in conjunction with the standard 6-speed dual-clutch gearbox. The Kona Hybrid complies with the Euro 6d-Temp-EVAP extended emission standard.
Standard features of the Hyundai Kona Hybrid Trend (from €26,900) include electric parking brake, automatic climate control, heated multifunction steering wheel with paddles and the electrically adjustable lumbar support for the driver. Also on board are DAB radio with USB port, 7-inch touch screen and the two smartphone connections with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility. As standard, the Hyundai Kona Hybrid Trend gets specially designed 16-inch alloy wheels with tyres of the dimension 250/60 R16. The SmartSense technology package, which provides greater comfort and safety through active driver assistance systems, has been expanded by Hyundai in the Kona Hybrid Trend with additional functions.
The style line (from €28,500) offers in addition to Trend a grille with chrome trim, dark tinted windows and a heat-insulating windscreen. In addition, the style includes rain sensor, fog lights, cup holders rear and a fabric-leather combination seat upholstery in black. The included smartphone tray sports wireless charging function (Qi standard). The Hyundai Kona Hybrid Style comes with 18-inch alloy wheels in a special design and 225/45 R18 tyres.
The Hyundai Kona Hybrid Premium ranks above the Style (from €30,700) with an additional 4.2-inch colour display for the on-board computer, black leather seats with white applications and the smart-key system with start/stop button. Head-up display, electrically folding exterior mirrors and auto-dimming rear-view mirror increase operator comfort, while Cross Traffic Alert, Blind Spot Assist, High-Beam Assistant, Static Turning Lights and Front Parking Assist enhance driving safety. The full-LED headlights and tail lights provide better visibility in difficult conditions.
Buyers of the Hyundai Kona Hybrid can customise their vehicle with attractive extras and packages suiting their individual needs. These include the full-LED package (from €900) and the navigation package (€1,300) with 10.25-inch touch screen, Krell sound system, traffic sign recognition and the new telematics system BlueLink from Hyundai. With BlueLink, the driver can retrieve relevant information of the Kona at any time by smartphone and control many functions via smartphone, such as locking and unlocking the vehicle or sending a destination to the navigation system.
