As a part of the new collaboration, 10 Waymo vehicles will be deployed on Lyft in the Metro Phoenix area over the next few months.

Six months ago, Waymo One, the company's commercial self-driving ride-hailing service was launched in the Metro Phoenix area. Over that time the company has grown to serve over 1,000 riders who hail Waymo cars each day to fulfil their daily commuting needs.

Once Waymo vehicles are on the platform, Lyft users in the area will have the option to select a Waymo directly from the Lyft app for eligible rides. This first step in the partnership will introduce the Waymo Driver to Lyft users, enabling them to take what for many will be their first ride in a self-driving vehicle. Waymo will be continuously improving their customer experience, and the partnership with Lyft will also give its teams the opportunity to collect valuable feedback.

Waymo and Lyft share a commitment to make our roads safer and transportation more accessible. The collaboration with the Lyft team will help Waymo bring their fully self-driving technology to the world to improve road safety and make it easier for people to get around.
