Speaking at the International Conference on Energy 4.0: Designing the Future of Thailand's Power Sector, Peter Galli, Nissan's vice President for Communications in Thailand, emphasised how technological innovations under Nissan Intelligent Mobility continue to drive the Thai automotive industry. The event was jointly organised by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Ministry of Energy of the Kingdom of Thailand.

“Our mission is to transform the way we live and drive. For nearly 85 years, Nissan's story has been a story of innovation to make peoples' lives better. We believe the future of mobility in the region is electric, and we are the forefront of that, with over 70 years of heritage in the electrification space,” Galli said. “Nissan launched the first mass-produced electric car, and there are now more than 380,000 Nissan LEAFs on the road. Our technology has been constantly evolving over the years as well, placing an increasing focus on safety, driver control and increased comfort for all on board.”

As the icon of Nissan Intelligent Mobility, the all-new Nissan LEAF showcases Nissan's advancements in the areas of Intelligent Power, Intelligent Driving, and Intelligent Integration. It has a driving range of more than 311 km according to the NEDC standard, and is over 60% more efficient than the previous model per charge, allowing drivers to enjoy safer, longer and more comfortable journeys.

“Today, the role of cars in society is changing. It is now much more than a vehicle, but rather an expression and extension of people's lifestyles. With Nissan technology, our electric vehicles can, in fact, become an integral part of the power grid for one's home or even stadiums,” Galli said.

Bringing the Nissan LEAF to Thailand further underscores Nissan's commitment to helping electrify the kingdom. “At Nissan, we believe in a future in which driving is a safe, enjoyable and exciting experience, with technology taking center stage. And we believe that future is electric, connected and autonomous,” he said.

The All-new Nissan LEAF will be available in Thailand from late April onwards. Nissan also plans to bring its all electric offering to Indian shores at around the same time.
