Innoviz expands to four new regions along with increase in manufacturing capacity
Innoviz Technologies, a provider of high-performance, solid-state LiDAR sensors and perception software, announced a host of milestones it has achieved including expansion into four new countries, enhanced manufacturing abilities, significant personnel growth and more, aligning with the company’s mission to provide LiDAR solutions that are available and affordable at a massive scale.
“Demand for our solid-state LiDAR offerings continues to invigorate the team and take Innoviz to new heights,” said Omer Keilaf, CEO and Co-Founder of Innoviz. “Our latest accomplishments are simply a reflection of the outstandingly successful year we've had filled with automaker design wins, Tier 1 supplier partnerships, product innovations and awards, and more. Innoviz truly epitomizes how mature LiDAR has the potential to transform the automotive, mapping and robotics industries, to name a few. We look forward to building on this success in 2019.”
A new, state-of-the-art 4,000 square metre facility will provide Innoviz with labs, garages for test vehicles, clean rooms and more that expand existing manufacturing capabilities. In addition, Innoviz's simple assembly process, thanks to its proprietary chip designs, passes dramatic price reductions on to customers.
Innoviz has expanded globally with the opening of offices in four new countries including the U.S., Germany, China and Japan, with additional expansions planned in 2019. These regions were selected based on their proximity to areas of high market demand and/or existing customers who are leveraging the company's LiDAR for automotive applications (including OEMs, fleet companies, shuttle services and Tier 1 suppliers), mapping, robotics and more.
Innoviz's presence in China uniquely positions the company to support a burgeoning mobility market with OEMs in the country racing to autonomy at speeds that challenge international rivals. By having engineering, product, marketing and sales personnel at these international locations, Innoviz can seamlessly meet current and future customer demand for low-cost, high-performance LiDAR solutions around the world - especially as automakers advance their autonomous efforts and LiDAR becomes more ubiquitous.
The new offices will be led by:
Aditya Srinivasan, General Manager, North America: Aditya is a seasoned veteran with a track record of success in the semiconductor and technology industries.
Klaus Wagner, Country Manager, Germany: Klaus brings experience in the defense and electronics industry, having served in senior functional and leadership roles, from R&D through marketing, controlling, program management and sales.
Rosana Su, Country Manager, China: Rosana has a track record of success in the technology and automotive industries. She previously served as a General Manager for Mobileye China for nearly 10 years in addition to other technology companies.
Andrew Klaus, Country Manager, Japan: Andrew brings with him 27 years of experience in the Japanese semiconductor market, serving in both technical and business management roles, most recently at Marvell Semiconductor.
Over the past year, Innoviz has doubled in personnel, bringing together the best talent available to help establish an industry leader in a very short period of time. Over the year ahead, Innoviz will focus personnel in several key areas, including: research and development, optics, MEMs, mechanics, system, hardware, perception software, business operations and sales.
