NVIDIA invests in HD Mapping company DeepMap

Jeff Herbst, Vice President of Business Development at NVIDIA, said: "HD mapping is key to enabling the deployment of autonomous vehicles. We're impressed with DeepMap's ability to build and update maps, and are excited to support them as they continue their growth."

"DeepMap looks forward to working with NVIDIA and its global network of technology decision makers as we scale worldwide," said the start-up in a blog post announcing the investment.

The Mapping company also went on to say that they are looking to expand their team and would be hiring several experts who are well-versed with self-driving technology and big data.

Recently, the company had announced that it was in the process of closing an oversubscribed Series B round of funding.
